Who is Mrs. Lee?
Hello there! My name is Mrs. Lee and I am a 4th grade teacher at Half Day School! I am so excited to meet my students. I am looking forward to a great year of learning and growing!
Burning questions you might have for me:
Who are you?
I am your teacher if you are in room 114! I have two girls, a husband, and I may be shorter than you! I also like to to eat pizza...a lot.
How long have you been a teacher?
I taught in the Chicago Public Schools for 8 years in the Jefferson Park neighborhood. During that time, I taught grades K-6. Although this is only my second year at Half Day, I have enjoyed many wonderful experiences teaching in an urban setting right here in our city of Chicago!
What is your educational background?
I graduated from the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana with a B.S. in Elementary Education in 2002. Then, I received my M.Ed. from my Alma Mater in Global Studies of Education in 2005.
What are some things you like to do?
I really like reading, playing with my kids, running, and traveling to far away lands. I also enjoy eating sweets, riding horses, laughing, and writing in my blogs.
Who are those cute kids in that picture?
Those cute munchkins are my children. I have two daughters, Ava and Gwen. Ava just turned five years old and Gwen is 2 years old. Ava is sweet and calm and Gwen is spicy and energetic!
Do you have a husband?
Yes, his name is Mr. Mike and I just know you'll love him! He might come to school one day and read to our class.
Where do you live?
When I was in fourth grade, I thought for sure that my teacher lived right there in the classroom! I'll always be there before you come and after you leave, but I assure you that I live in a house, sleep in a real bed, shop at the grocery store, and even eat at McDonald's sometimes.
Why did you want to work in District 103?
My childhood included living in Buffalo Grove and Glenview. I attended a fabulous elementary school while in Buffalo Grove and I really missed that area after moving away. When I was offered a position at Half Day School, I was absolutely thrilled. After meeting Mrs. Mau, Dr. Warren, District 103's administrative team, and my colleagues, I knew I couldn't be in a better place. I am so impressed with our District's commitment to academic excellence, our partnership with the community, and the warm support found throughout the whole district. It is such a privilege to be a part of District 103's team! I anticipate great things to come!
