Write a description of the scene you have chosen so that others will want to learn more about the story you read.
Time Line-- Make a time line of all of the important events in the book. Give specific details. Use a minimum of five events. Must be colored, labeled, and neatly done.
Research-- Research a topic (person, thing, idea, event, etc.) brought up in your book. Share the new information you found in a short presentation to the class. The information you found should be neatly displayed on a poster board. Colorful illustrations would be appreciated! Please include a title and the reason why you chose that topic.

On the inside of the jacket, tell some information about the author. Be sure to include a list of other books by the same author. Your project should be colorful and have typed information and neat illustrations.
Character Mobile--Construct a mobile of characters in your story and hang them from a clothes hanger. Write a description of each character in your mobile and tell something that happened to them in the story. It can be funny, sad, or just a fact from the story. Also include the title and a summary of the book. All information must be typed!
New Ending--Write a different ending to the story you have read. Give a brief synopsis/summary of the story. Make the events change so that your ending would be possible.
Diary--Pretend you are a character in the book and write a diary. You should have at least 10 entries describing events that have occurred in the story and your reaction to them. Entries must show that you have put effort and thought into them. Be creative with your journal!

Cereal Box Book Report Directions
FRONT OF BOX:
Use a piece of white or light colored paper to cover the front of your cereal box. (You will probably want to create the cover before gluing it on your box.) Invent a name for the cereal that is related to the title of the book and sounds like a cereal. Do not use the exact title of the book. Choose a shape for the cereal as well as colors and ingredients that all relate to the book. For example, for Dear Mr. Henshaw, you might invent a cereal called Henshaw Chews, a toasted oat cereal in the shape of a diary with marshmallow trucks to represent Leigh's dad.
RIGHT SIDE:
Make a list of ingredients that includes the story elements Characters and Setting. Under the heading "Ingredients," list the main characters and write a sentence about each one. Then describe the setting. Use the template on the attached sheet.
LEFT SIDE:
Write a summary that describes the main problem and the solution of the book. Try to use words that will “grab” readers’ attention and make them want to buy your cereal. Use the attached template.
BACK OF BOX:
Your choice. You may create a word search, crossword puzzle, (puzzle-maker.com), a game, or draw a picture of a scene from your story.
TOP OF BOX:
Include the title, author, number of pages, and number of stars you would give this book if you were a book critic. The maximum number of stars would be 5.
